Same Island, yet World's Apart:

The secluded East End is Located at the East End Grand Cayman's best kept secret! What you will discover at our small diving lodge is peace and relaxation, no crowds, no tourism, unparalleled camaraderie, and unquestionably the best all-around diving experience in the Cayman Islands.

The Lodge:

Our 12 room guest building is surrounded by an upper level sun deck which overlooks the ocean. The lower level rooms open onto decking and courtyards. The upper level rooms open onto a large sundeck balcony which surrounds the entire lodge. Courtyards separate the guest building from the open-air dining area and bar.

Guest Room All guestrooms are air-conditioned with private bathrooms. All rooms open onto sundecks or courtyards and all have beautiful new tile flooring. Most rooms have 2 double beds. King beds are available in the oceanfront rooms. All rooms are free of telephones and televisions, however, contact with civilization is easily made in the office and bar where telephones and fax machines are available.

Hammocks and beach furniture make relaxing on our private beach a peaceful interlude between diving and dining. The courtyards are a popular place for social gatherings or just peaceful contemplation. The open-air bar provides a place for lively conversation after the daily diving activities are over. Bicycles are available for guests to use.

A large walk-in gear storage room is at the end of the private boat dock. The dive boats are conveniently moored at dock's end, just seconds from your room. (No bus rides here!) The offshore barrier reef has formed a lagoon in front of the lodge which can be accessed from our private coral sand beach or from our private dock. The guest areas are all less than 40 feet from the water's edge.

Dining:

Our open-air dining area looks out over the Caribbean Sea and is approximately 35 feet from the water's edge. A breakfast buffet is served from 7:30am until just before the dive boats depart at 9:00am. A hearty buffet style lunch is served immediately when the dive boats return at approximately 12:30 - 1:00pm. Dinner is served family style at 6:30pm with abundant servings of pasta, meat, or fish. Cuisine is predominantly continental, prepared by our full-time chefs, Sheila and Roy. The dining room is not open to the public and serves lodge guests only.

The Boats: One of our Dive Boats

We have two spacious state of the art dive boats.

One of these is a Pro-48, 48 feet long with a 16 foot beam and three 900 hp diesel engines. Our Pro-48 is the fastest and most advanced dive boat currently in the Cayman Islands. Our second boat is a 45' Garcia.

Both boats are set up for diver convenience. Both boats have camera tables, fresh drinking water, fresh water showers, separate rinse tanks for cameras, and fresh fruit. The Pro-48 has a private electric marine head.

The Diving:

The East End of Grand Cayman is for those who prefer to get most of their excitement underwater. tarpon Divers come to the Cayman Diving Lodge not only because of the seclusion from crowds and tourism, but also for the thrill of diving the 55 dive sites of Grand Cayman's fabled East End which have thus far been named; many other sites are currently being discovered and mapped. These sites distinguish themselves from other areas of the island by their wide diversity. No two dive sites are the same!

Each morning, we feature a 2-tank boat dive which departs at 9:00am (11:00am on Sundays). The first dive is planned as a 100-110 foot wall dive with a multi-level profile and a bottom time of 30-35 minutes. The 2nd dive is usually a mid-reef dive (50-65 feet), again with a multi-level profile, and a bottom time of 40-45 minutes.

After a hearty lunch served in our open-air dining area, afternoon boats depart at about 2:00-2:30pm for another mid-reef dive.

Night dives take place 1 to 2 times each week and are scheduled by guest demand.

Three-tank Stingray City cruises are also scheduled by guest demand. On these trips, we do a 2-tank morning dive - eat lunch on the boat - and pull into Stingray City in the early afternoon, perfectly timed to arrive after the morning tourist boats have left and before the afternoon tourist boats arrive.

We also offer underwater video and photo services.

The Staff:

Our live-in professional dive staff is our greatest asset. They live on-site at the lodge and are available to our guests from dawn to dusk. As our guest, you will quickly know them as your friends.

All dive staff are PADI instructors and four are experienced boat captains. We offer all levels of scuba instruction, from basic open water to divemaster as well as nitrox certification. We also offer resort courses and SCUBA review. Both the staff and the ownership are committed to your personalized diving experience based on total service.

hanging out The lodge is ideal for group travel, and many dive clubs and dive shops take advantage of our unique situation.
